General Inspection's Eddy-Current Technology is completely digital with multiple frequencies. It can inspect a wide range of materials and detect metallurgical defects such as cracks, seams, hardness variations, plating variations and missing features - like grooves, chamfers and threads, keyways, knurls, etc...
Features include coils that are balanced to remove variations from environmental influences, part storage and retrieval set-up and timeline inspection to pinpoint areas of concern (annealing, localized heat-treatment). A digital graph and impedance plane make set-up easy and a zoom feature allows for detection of smaller part imperfections.
Eddy-Current can be a stand-alone sorting machine called the Gi-50 or it can be added to any of the available Gi high-speed sorting/inspection system. Inspection rates are not affected with the addition of eddy-current. Inspection rates can be up to 600 parts per minute.
