Optional Equipment
Eddy-Current Technology
General Inspection's Eddy-Current Technology is completely digital with multiple frequencies. It can inspect a wide range of materials and detect metallurgical defects such as cracks, seams, hardness variations, plating variations and missing features - like grooves, chamfers and threads, keyways, knurls, etc...
GI-Vision System
The Gi-Vision System was designed specifically for high-speed inspection of fasteners and screw machine parts. It is used to detect defects such as cracks, defective recesses, internal chips, missing internal features (threads, chamfers, grooves) and surface imperfections. It can also measure I.D., O.D., concentricity, and roundness.
Feeders
Each feed system is equipped with metering to provide proper part spacing. This eliminates false rejects caused by parts traveling too closely together through the sensing zones. A custom feeder, designed around your part range, is a critical element of the complete GI system that gets you to zero.

Features include coils that are balanced to remove variations from environmental influences, part storage and retrieval set-up and timeline inspection to pinpoint areas of concern (annealing, localized heat-treatment). A digital graph and impedance plane make set-up easy and a zoom feature allows for detection of smaller part imperfections.
Eddy-Current can be a stand-alone sorting machine called the Gi-50 or it can be added to any of the available Gi high-speed sorting/inspection system. Inspection rates are not affected with the addition of eddy-current. Inspection rates can be up to 600 parts per minute.

It is used to detect defects such as cracks, defective recesses, internal chips, missing internal features (threads, chamfers, grooves) and surface imperfections. It can also measure I.D., O.D., concentricity, and roundness.
Sophisticated image analysis software along with specialized lighting minimizes the effects of surface variations, allowing the system to detect very small imperfections and cracks.
Gi-Vision can be added as an option to the complete line of Gi 100% sorting/inspection systems. The addition vision on the sorting machines does not affect the inspection rate. Parts can be sorted at rates up to 600 parts per minute.
