With more than 600 installations worldwide, General Inspection, LLC develops and markets high speed, 100% measuring/sorting equipment. The equipment enables highly precise 2D and/or 3D measurements, of high volume parts and components before they are introduced into production. This will help with eliminating costly process jams and malfunctions.
Gi sorting equipment, with easy to use standard software, is leading the way toward zero defect quality. Its’ equipment is used by companies around the world in production and quality control, for applications including: automotive, aerospace, industrial, railway, medical and furniture manufacturing.
General Inspection’s product range includes measuring/sorting machines like the Gi-100 used to 100% inspect flat parts such as nuts, bushings, washers, etc… Or the Gi-200/Gi-300 used to 100% measure cylindrical parts like bolts, screws, tubes and pins. And the Gi-360 that 100% measures cylindrical parts in 3D, capable of detecting damage, straightness and min/max material along the full length of components.
Gi also offers all products with a “turn-key” option (hoppers, feeders and packaging equipment).

GI-360 high-speed laser inspection system
The Gi-360 inspects 360 degrees to ensure every part meets print tolerances, is free from damage, and optionally free from metallurgical inconsistencies to guarantee zero defects.

The Gi-300 is an automated 100% laser sorting system. Tilt head laser technology, precision narrow laser beams, multi laser velocity gauge, split laser beam and three wire modeling - with true system 22 thread measuring capability - are all Gi's inventions. They're used to accurately measure lengths, diameters and tapers.

The tilt head laser automatically positions itself to the appropriate angle to remove cosine error. Time saving software measures external features and easily scrolls across the screen to display every feature's details. A three wire thread modeling technique is used to measure many thread characteristics on every part. The laser optics system with its narrow/split laser beam allows accurate proportions of small non-symmetric features. And the multi-laser array accurately measures variations in the velocity of the part achieving extremely precise lengths.
Eddy Current and Vision sensors are options that can be added to detect defects such as missing internal features, broken recesses, cracks, heat-treat and plating variations.
The Gi-300 measures external dimensions to print, ensuring out of tolerance parts are rejected. If dimensional inspection is critical to your needs, then the Gi-300 is critical on your path to zero.
The Gi-200 is an automated laser gauging/sorting system. Lengths, diameters, threads and tapers are measured by laser and optical sensors at up to 400 parts per minute. Every part is inspected before entering the assembly operation, eliminating costly downtime caused by jam-ups.

As with all of our machines, data reports, multi-sensor velocity gauges, NIST traceable diameter calibration, network service and true part storage/retrieval are all available on the Gi-200.

This Gi 200 is ideal for cylindrical parts (parts without heads), or near cylindrical parts - parts that have small cosine error. No special operator training is necessary and set up time is approximately five minutes. Eddy Current and Vision sensors are options that can be added to detect defects such as missing internal features, broken recesses, cracks, heat-treat and plating variations. For a low cost, the G-200 measures each part and throws out defects that don't meet blueprint tolerances so you can provide zero foreign parts to your customers.

Microsoft Windows based software makes part set-up easy, and allows for parts storage and retrieval. Optional cameras are available to check for the presence of crimps, nylon rings internal threads, grooves and chamfers.
The Gi-100, can sort up to 400 parts per minute, and is the perfect machine for flat part manufacturers whose goal is zero defects.
The Gi-50 is a completely digital eddy-current sorting system with multiple frequencies. It can inspect a wide range of materials and part configurations. It is used to detect metallurgical defects such as cracks, seams, hardness variations, plating variations and missing features - like grooves, chamfers and threads, keyways, knurls, etc...
Unique features include coils that that are automatically balanced as each part passes to remove variations from environmental influences, part storage and retrieval set-up and timeline inspection to pinpoint areas of concern (annealing, localized heat-treatment). A digital impedance plane graph makes set-up easy and a zoom feature allows for detection of smaller part imperfections not normally detected.
The Gi-50 is a stand-alone sorting machine complete with a fail safe accept/reject gate. Or eddy-current can be added to any of the available Gi high-speed sorting/inspection systems. Inspection rates can be up to 600 parts per minute.
